Alechri Properties is a real estate investment, development, and management company which was founded in 1997 by its sole principal, Gregory A. Paulus, an Illinois licensed Realtor. While the company is somewhat young, our many years of experience in the real estate business and our business background are highly complementary to a growing entrepreneurial company. The company focuses on creating strong real estate investment opportunities for people who want to diversify their investment portfolio.
Mr. Paulus, the President of our company, has been involved in real estate for 17 years. He graduated Summa cum Laude from Emory University with a BA in Economics. He then attended the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, as an Austin Scholar, where he graduated with a MBA in Finance and Accounting. His background includes 10 years of real estate finance within the commercial real estate departments of three Chicago area banks and running the loan production departments for the last two banks. Property loans underwritten include office, apartment, industrial, and retail acquisition, renovation and construction. The heaviest emphasis was on residential development, construction and apartment renovation, construction and permanent financing. In addition, Mr. Paulus started and ran a successful remodeling company focusing on apartment buildings and condos before selling the business. He has acquired and renovated numerous apartment properties in the Chicago area. Before starting Alechri Properties, Mr. Paulus was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Tantillo Homes et al, one of the top 30 homebuilders in the Chicago Metro Region with $20 million in annual sales. He is active on the Board of the Madison Street Business Association as Vice President and Chairman of the Project Review Committee, the Forest Park Mainstreet Facade Committee, and the Metropolitan Planning Council Housing Committee.
Alechri Properties will continue to focus on the specific segment of the market and ownership strategy that has been successfully cultivated by Mr. Paulus. Alechri Properties has purchased twenty income properties thus far: four office buildings and sixteen apartment buildings, all in the Chicago metro area. In addition, four townhome developments are under way. Future business plans include four to five new income properties in selected markets and one more development project. Development projects will be focused on infill and urban renewal sites.
